This course will introduce students to the various roles, educational requirements, and credentialing and licensing requirements of professionals in the healthcare system. Exploration of the history of the healthcare system, the current healthcare system, and the role of regulation and governmental issues in healthcare will be examined. The importance of professional behaviors in the healthcare disciplines will be emphasized.

This course consists of didactic instruction, discussions, and 90 practicum hours. The internship experience draws on students' knowledge in the core areas of health sciences and additional concentration coursework. Students will integrate the skills and knowledge gained throughout the program and learn critical elements specific to the internship experience in an approved clinical setting.
